Lexie Balfanz

From Coach LP: This will begin my 5th season as Lexie's travel ball coach. I first met Lexie as she was about to enter the 6th grade and immediately knew she was going to be a special player. Her bat is one of the best I've ever seen. One of the things that makes her special offensively is her unique balance of being able to hit for both power and average. She has led my team in both categories every year she has played for me. Although she has more than enough homerun pop, she has no problem taking what the game gives her whether that is a hard single up the middle, a sacrifice fly, or a pitch around walk in addition to her homeruns. Her pitch selection is great as she has truly mastered "her pitches" and hunts those with relentless discipline until she has to use her hand eye coordination with two strikes. Behind the plate she is one of the best strike stealers I've been around. Her elite level framing allows our pitchers to work around the zone while still being ahead in the count. Her pop time is great at sub-1.80 in game consistently and will only continue to improve. As a person, she is a natural leader with teammates always looking to her for direction. She is a front of the line kid and pushes everyone around her to be their best.
